Andrew Tumwesigye is a consultant with 4 years experience in Digital Financial Services and 1 year experience in commodity risk management. His areas of expertise are warehouse receipting, business development, financial planning training, market research, ecosystem assessment, agent recruitment/placement, human-centered design, prototype iteration and evaluation
Andrew joined PHB in 2016 as a research consultant on the tea value chain digitization project. He was part of the team that successfully conducted research in preparation for digital payments and delivery of financial products in the tea value chain, assessing client and provider readiness in preparation of the transition to digital bulk payments, developing a digital strategy, developing a prototype/pilot strategy. He is now actively engaged in supporting the payment service providers to drive uptake of digital payments at Mcleod Russel Tea company.
Prior to joining PHB, Andrew worked with Mcash Uganda as the manager agro-value chains. While there he successfully oversaw the development/implementation of pilots in the tobacco, cocoa and dairy value chains. He was tasked with appraising the ability of value chain prospects to satisfy functional/business requirements, developing plans to guide the implementation and roll out of projects, designing activity processes and coordinating field team effort. His operational background is an asset during the implementation phase of a project.
